One invoice for the whole clinic. Notes that write themselves.

Buy a seat for each clinician, invite them by email, and give your team back their evenings. Six or more annual seats take 15% off.

How a practice account works

  • Buy the seats you need at $468 per clinician per year, with 15% off from six seats up.
  • Invite clinicians by email; each accepts a link and starts documenting the same day.
  • Every clinician's records stay encrypted under their own key.
  • Add or free a seat any time; billing adjusts pro rata.

Billing

Team billing starts the day you buy your seats — there is no separate free-trial period on team plans. No contracts and no onboarding fee.

Security & HIPAA

HIPAA-ready with a signed Business Associate Agreement, AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS in transit, two-factor authentication, and zero audio storage.

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI progress note generator?

An AI progress note generator listens to a therapy session, converts the speech to text, and drafts the clinical note for you. NotedTherapy writes SOAP, DAP, BIRP, intake, treatment plan or your own custom layout in your own clinical voice, so the draft reads like something you wrote rather than a template.

Is NotedTherapy HIPAA compliant?

NotedTherapy is built for HIPAA-aligned use by mental health providers. A Business Associate Agreement is executed and timestamped at sign-up before any client information can be entered, all PHI fields are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM using per-account keys, traffic runs over TLS, and session audio is never written to disk.

Does it store the session recording?

No. Audio is held in a transient memory buffer, sent once for transcription, and deleted as soon as the text is generated. There is no recording archive to leak or forget to delete.

Does it work for virtual and telehealth sessions?

Yes, as long as the microphone can hear both voices. For in-person sessions any desk or built-in microphone works. For virtual sessions, play the call out loud through your speakers so the microphone picks up your client alongside you. Headsets, earpieces and earbuds are not supported at this time.

Which note formats are supported?

SOAP, DAP, BIRP, GIRP, intake assessments, treatment plans, couples and group session notes, plus any custom section layout you build.

Can psychiatrists use it for medication management notes?

Yes. Psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners use custom section layouts for medication management, mental status exam and plan, and can draft care-coordination letters to primary care providers from the same notes.

Does it write referral and insurance letters?

Yes. NotedTherapy drafts referral letters, letters to physicians, treatment summaries for insurers or courts, support and accommodation letters, and client-facing letters, dated and signed with your saved credentials block.

How much does it cost?

Unlimited notes as low as $39 per month after a 7-day free trial that needs no credit card. The trial is the complete product.

Does it replace my EHR?

No. NotedTherapy is documentation software, not a system of record. You copy, print or export the finished note into whichever EHR or chart you already use.

Does NotedTherapy support two-factor authentication?

Yes. Every account can turn on two-factor authentication using an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Authy or 1Password, with single-use backup codes for a lost device. Combined with per-account encryption, automatic logoff after an hour of inactivity and one active session per account, it stops a password alone from opening an account.

Can a group practice or clinic use NotedTherapy?

Yes. A practice buys one seat per clinician on a single invoice, invites colleagues by email, and takes 15% off with six or more annual seats. Each clinician's records stay encrypted under their own key, and team billing starts as soon as the seats are purchased — there is no separate trial period on team plans.

How do I tell my patients about this tool?

Keep it simple and honest, and always ask permission. For example: 'To help me focus completely on you today instead of typing on my screen, I'm using a secure, HIPAA-compliant AI assistant to draft my notes. It listens to our conversation and writes a summary for me to review and edit later. Are you comfortable if I turn that on?' Because no audio is ever stored, you can reassure patients that nothing is recorded — only a transcript is used momentarily to draft the note, then discarded.

How is NotedTherapy different from using ChatGPT to write notes?

NotedTherapy is purpose-built for clinical documentation and is covered by Business Associate Agreements, so protected health information can be handled lawfully — something a general consumer chatbot like ChatGPT is not designed or contracted for. It also stores no audio, matches your clinical writing voice, produces recognised formats like SOAP, DAP and BIRP, and drafts referral and insurance letters, all inside a HIPAA-aligned workspace rather than an open chat window.

How accurate are the AI-generated notes?

The draft is generated from a transcript of what was actually said in the session, then presented for you to review and edit before saving. It handles the structure and routine wording so you can focus on clinical judgement. You remain the author of the record — nothing is filed until you approve it.

Do I need client consent to use AI note-taking?

Consent requirements vary by jurisdiction and setting, but best practice — and often the law — is to tell clients you use a secure assistant to help draft your notes and to obtain their agreement. Because NotedTherapy never stores audio, you can honestly reassure clients that the session is not recorded; only a transient transcript is used to draft the note and is then discarded.

What happens to my notes and data if I cancel?

Your notes remain yours. You can copy, print or export them to your EHR at any time, and you control retention directly — purge a single client, purge everything, or bulk-delete inactive records. If you cancel, export what you need first; while stored, PHI stays encrypted at rest under your own key.
